Having witnessed the 2014 and 2019 election campaigns and the mood & sentiments of the people, it was clear that people were tolerating Congress only because they never had a serious political figure opposing them. Since the emergence of Modi in 2014, the hopes of people changed. It is not known as BJP ki sarkar, it is known as Modi ki sarkar. He is the face of the party and the key decision maker too.
In 2014, Modi had literally swept the opposition alone single-handedly. Congress was desperate but did a mistake of joining hands with a series of parties that had a negative image already. They mistook the mathematics. The g rand old party thought BJP can’t beat numbers if they are fought with volumes of Tier II parties. To garnish the campaign, they tried misleading the people on Rafael deal, which was never proven to be a scam.
Fake secularism, communism are age old think tanks operating in India since early 1900s. Hard core Indian nationalism has emerged only in the early 2000. And they comprise of only 10–12% of the population in India.
2019 was a doomsday for many parties such as BSP and AAP. The campaign of the opposition was a comedy of errors. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the CPI(M) was decimated and managed to secure only 5 of 545 seats. Now the leftists are aiding and abetting university students, daily wage earners to take part in mass protests against a democratically elected government to spread their nefarious anti-national propaganda.
Remember CAA, Ram Mandir and Triple Talaaq were part of BJP's 2019 election manifesto which have been fulfilled by Modi-Shah duo. They have walked the talk which has happened for the first time in the history of India.
These are some points that make Narendra Modi the most popular politician of the modern times: -
1. Modi Ji's Overnight success
A man selling tea, from lower caste today can become a PM and loved by all. Modi is a vision for a nation where caste and class matters. Unlike most nations where only rich guys from rich families, with education from abroad can rule, Modi Ji is an exception.
2. Interaction with students
He interacts with the students and the youth of the nation. He is a brilliant stratagem; he has created an army of people with whom he interacts and gives advice. These will be future voters for him.
3. Women
He is hugely popular amongst women; women are his lead campaigners. His fulfilled promise of abolishment of Triple Talaaq made him their hero.
4. Social media
Today elections and opinions are made on Social Media Modi knows it and he support it. Now there are millions of news channels,
5. Modi speaks only in Hindi; that too proudly
At one time completely English dominated news channels; today we have native language anchors and newsrooms. They have become face of the channel and have a massive appeal due to regional languages.
Moreover, I see this government standing with a ticked list of To-Dos of their manifesto before the next elections after enacting Uniform Civil Code and occupying PoK, sailing through occasional protests.
Considering all these, I can see BJP pulling off the next elections with equal degree of success as the last one, if not more. And all this even after the setback to our economy, peaked unemployment, among many other valid flaws the opposition keeps on pointing out.
